Frank Facey Student Award - Congratulations Winners!

                                   Frank Facey Student Award Winners 2018


The 2018 Frank Facey Student Award is presented to three local VCE students who have shown dedication and persistence in improving their skills and knowledge. The Award encourages young people to strive to be the leaders of tomorrow through their studies and dedication. The prize for the award is one of three Mac Book Air’s.

This year the award was opened up to reach even more schools and more students. Now open to all schools in the Dandenong and surrounding area, nominations were able to be submitted from teachers, mentors, family members and friends. In a first for the award, students were able to nominate themselves.


Facey Industrial Commercial are very pleased to announce the following well deserved winners of the 2018 Frank Facey Award!


Huma Mirranay - Sirius College Keysborough

Huma Mirranay Award Winner


Huma is a year 12 student and was nominated by herself, her teachers and also family members and friends. Huma has shown hard work and dedication in her studies. Her goal is to pursue a career in law. Huma enjoys assisting others to achieve goals alongside her own and spends time fundraising in the community outside her studies.


Adnan Shaikh - St Johns Regional College

Adnan is in year 12 and was nominated by his teacher. Adnan has been meticulous in his approach to learning and has shown dedication through revision and preparation, along with effective time management. He regularly clarifies his learning through questions to ensure of his full understanding of the topic. In the future, Adnan would like to attend university to complete a Bachelor of Business. 


Behzad Molavi - Dandenong High School

Behzad Molavi Frank Facey Student Award

Behzad was nominated by his accounting teacher, who reported that Behzad has shown admirable dedication to his studies. In previous years, he had no focussed on academic studies, but was determined to turn this around through extra study time at school and requesting extra assitance from techers in his own time. This resulted in his grades steadily increasing to be among the top third in class. Behzad is studying VET TAFE mechanical engineering.


Each of the winners were chosen based on demonstrated improvement in their fields of study. Each have shown dedication to their education and have set personal goals and achieved them.


According to Mark Bond, Director of Facey Industrial Commercial, "This award is not about scores, it's about recognising effort. Having a vision ans working hard is key to our success as a business and we believe it is important to anyone's success, whatever their passion and strengths"

The Facey Family have been an integral part of the Dandenong community and business sector since 1917, when Frank Facey moved from coach building to real estate. Over three generations, Facey businesses have become specialists in Dandenong and the South East region.

"We know this region and want to support it's prosperity into the future. The Frank Facey Student Award provides a way for us to encourage young people to work hard, to strive for success and to persist in achieving their goals.
